Our Continued Response to COVID-19

In a situation that is changing daily, we are continually monitoring new developments and adjusting our response to help flatten the curve and mitigate the impact of COVID-19. The safety and well-being of ALL remains our highest priority: our WALSH employees, their families, our self-performed subsidiary RDF Builders Co. and their families, our partners and our communities.

The WHOCDC, OSHA and NECA all provide excellent Coronavirus specific resources to educate employers and our workforce on what this new virus is, how it can affect our health, and most importantly, precautions we can take to reduce potential exposures in all settings of life.

Affordable, service-enriched housing for Pioneer Human Services

Time seems to fly by nowadays! It’s been about a year since we broke ground on a new, seven-story, 90-unit apartment complex in the heart of the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle in partnership with Pioneer Human Services

This project will support residents of Seattle who have been affected by incarceration or homelessness as they transition into affordable, service-enriched housing. The new building will include community space, a spacious classroom and case management support.

WALSH is pleased to continue our long tradition of building complex, infill projects on tight, urban sites in partnership with mission-driven organizations like Pioneer Human Services. We look forward to completion in late 2020!

Beautiful Mural on the Gardner House and Allen Family Center

We feel so fortunate to have been the builder on this project! “When Tacoma public artist Kenji Hamai Stoll began sketching out the design of the mural that would adorn the exterior of the Gardner House and Allen Family Center, he knew it needed to be more than a beautiful piece of art. It needed to connect with the surrounding community.

It’s this belief of community connection that’s driven his work in the public art space, and the Gardner House and Allen Family Center for Vulcan Inc. – which helps provide housing and resources for families experiencing homelessness in King County – presented an exciting opportunity to continue making those connections through art.

“When you think about public art, it’s a reflection and a conversation that an artist is having with the community,” said Stoll over a Zoom interview. “When a community is not involved or thought of or incorporated in a meaningful way, it’s really just a one-way conversation.”
