WALSH is honored to have won the 2017 Oregon Ethics in Business Awards for Large Business, received by our President Matt Leeding. The Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business Awards honor those organizations and individuals who have demonstrated ethical business practice in its broadest interpretation: In the workplace, the marketplace, the environment, and the community. The recipients of these awards will have, by act and example, gone beyond the expected to achieve excellence in ethical business practices. Thank you to all of our WALSH team for their efforts to be exceptional in all ways.
WALSH is very excited to share the news of the University of Oregon New Residence Hall project. We just concluded our whole building air tightness testing in May and the result was .037CFM/SF. For context, the air barrier standard is .40CFM/SF. Most buildings we have been testing have been coming in between .17-.22. So this is REALLY EXCITING results for the project team! The building is 136,655 SF, which includes four stories of wood framed housing over a concrete first floor structure with common spaces and housing, and a partial basement.
O’Neill/Walsh Community Builders (OWCB), a partnership between O’Neill Construction Group and Walsh Construction Co, is honored to have been selected as the recipient of ROSE Community Development‘s Outstanding Business Partner Award! Congratulations to the Framework team and all involved in this historic process! Framework, the nation’s first wood high-rise building, has received building permit approval from the State of Oregon and the City of Portland. The first time anyone in the country has ever had regulatory approval to build a wood high-rise! The Framework team successfully complete seismic, fire and acoustic testing as part of the process. WALSH is excited and honored to be a part of this project.
