T. J. Day Hall, originally constructed in 1936 as a library, has become a light, airy, high-tech academic facility, increasing Linfield College’s classroom space by almost 28 percent. The building includes classrooms, labs and meeting spaces, along with 30 offices for faculty and staff. Work included seismic upgrade, installation of complex mechanical systems, lighting and electrical upgrades and architectural finishes. Original design elements including arched windows and glass doors were maintained. The building is topped with a photovoltaic array and is LEED Gold certified.
